Flying Robot

The principles of insect flight, especially, of humming birds, were studied in order to develop a robotics flying mechanisms consisting of a pair of wings with 2-DOF each.  The wing motions of insects create three basic aerodynamical mechanisms, namely delayed stall, rotational circulation, and wake capture, to allow for high maneuverability flight such as hovering, vertical take off and landing, and quick acceleration and deceleration. Some prototypes were constructed and experimented for applications.
